Lizardmen Campaign
Serve the Great Plan or face the wrath of the Old Ones.
The Lizardmen Campaign places players at the helm of the Saurian race, ancient guardians created by the benevolent Chaos gods' rivals, the Old Ones, to protect Terra from the encroaching darkness. In this mode, you command a faction dedicated to the Great Plan, striving to halt the rise of Chaos and ensure the survival of the world through ritual, sacrifice, and overwhelming force. Unlike other races that seek domination for power or glory, the Lizardmen fight with a singular, cosmic purpose: to maintain balance. Players must navigate complex religious structures, manage the sacred Pyramids, and coordinate the diverse castes of Saurians, from the scholarly Skinks to the terrifying Cold Ones and the majestic Slann Mage-Priests.

Lore & Background
Long before humanity walked the earth, the Old Ones shaped the Lizardmen to be the perfect guardians of Terra. Tasked with a grand design known as the Great Plan, they were built to purge the world of Chaos and ensure that civilization could flourish under their watchful eyes. However, when the Old Ones vanished or fell, leaving the universe adrift, the Slann Mage-Priests found themselves alone in their duty, interpreting cryptic visions from the stars to guide their people. The Lizardmen view all other races as temporary variables in a grand equation. They do not conquer for territory but rather to eliminate threats to the Plan. Their society is rigidly caste-based and devoid of individual ambition; every Saurus warrior knows its place, and every Skink scribe records the will of the Slann. To them, the rise of Chaos is an aberration that must be corrected through blood and fire.
In Their Own Story
The humid air of the jungle hung heavy with the scent of rot and ozone as High Priest K'torx gazed upon the ritual circle. The stars above were wrong; their alignment suggested a breach in the veil of reality, a wound leaking Chaos into the mortal realm. Behind him, the Saurus warriors stood motionless, their scales gleaming under the torchlight, waiting for the command that would send them to slaughter. K'torx raised his staff, the gem within pulsing with green fire. 'The Plan demands sacrifice,' he intoned, his voice echoing off the ancient stone of the Temple. 'Let the blood of the unworthy water the roots of the future.' As the first horn blew, the jungle erupted in a roar of scales and steel.
Reader's Guide
In the Lizardmen campaign, your primary objective is to execute the Great Plan by completing specific rituals tied to your Slann's vision. The game begins with you controlling a single faction, tasked with expanding your influence while maintaining high order levels to prevent internal revolts. Progression involves conquering key regions that act as nodes for global rituals. You must balance military expansion with religious upkeep; neglecting the temples can cause your units to lose morale or even turn against you. Unique events often present choices between immediate tactical gains and long-term strategic benefits aligned with the Plan. The campaign features multiple victory conditions, typically centered around completing a set of major rituals before Chaos reaches a critical threshold on the map. Failure to act swiftly results in a 'Chaos Victory,' where the world falls into darkness despite your efforts.
